Women's soccer team defeated at Santa Ana

The Irvine Valley women's soccer team dropped its second straight match in Orange Empire Conference play, losing at Santa Ana, 3-1, on Friday.
Santa Ana won its third match in a row and improved its record to 9-3-0 overall and 5-3-0 in conference.
Irvine Valley's record slipped to 3-8-1 overall and 1-5-1 in conference.
The teams battled through a scoreless tie most of the first half before Reyna Fonseca's long shot arced over IVC goalie Christina Huapaya in the 34th minute to put the Dons up, 1-0.
Three minutes later, Salina Ortiz buried a free kick in the back of the net from just outside of the box following a Lasers foul. Ortiz' goal put the Dons ahead, 2-0, heading into the half.
Ortiz scored again in the 54th minute, again on a free kick following a Lasers foul.
Monica Ramirez scored the Lasers lone goal of the game in the 86th minute off a free kick from Stacee Brayley. It was Ramirez's fourth goal of the season.
Huapaya had four saves in goal.
IVC plays again on Tuesday, hosting Orange Coast at 3 p.m.
