The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team is now ranked fourth in the state.
The latest poll came out earlier this week and the Lasers now only trail El Camino, Sacramento City and Orange Coast.
El Camino, the two-time defending state champion has a record of 10-0 overall. Sacramento City is 12-0 and Orange Coast is 5-0.
Irvine Valley has a record of 4-0. The Lasers moved up in the rankings despite not playing last week.
The Lasers had a match against fifth-ranked Moorpark canceled due to the fires that were affecting the Moorpark area.
Irvine Valley plays its next match on Friday. The Lasers open up Orange Empire Conference play with a home match against Riverside at 6 p.m.
It is also Breast Cancer Awareness night at Irvine Valley. The Lasers will be wearing pink uniforms. Admission to the event is $5 and includes a pink T-shirt from Asics. Proceeds and donations from the event will go to the Dig Pink Volleyball Project to help the fight against Breast Cancer.
