Women's soccer to forfeit to Cypress
Sep 28, 2009
The Irvine Valley women's soccer team will have to forfeit its second straight Orange Empire Conference match - at Cypress on Tuesday.
IVC has continued to be set back by injuries, and won't have enough healthy players for the contest.
Irvine Valley forfeited a match to Riverside last Friday.
The team's last match was a good one. It beat Golden West, 2-1, last Tuesday at home.
The win improved IVC's record to 3-4-0 overall at the time. With the two forfeit defeats, the team's record is now 3-6-0.
Freshman forward Arabia Ruiz leads the team in scoring with five goals and two assists for 12 points. Freshman forward Monica Ramirez is next with three goals and one assist for seven points.
Irvine Valley is scheduled to play again on Friday, hosting Saddleback in a conference match at 3 p.m.
