Women's soccer team loses at Palomar
Sep 01, 2009 The Irvine Valley women's soccer team scored its first goal of the 2009 season on Tuesday at Palomar.
Now the Lasers are looking for their first win.
Irvine Valley saw its record slip to 0-2 on the year after a 3-1 nonconference loss to Palomar.
Palomar got on the board first on a goal by Stephanie Gonzalez.
IVC answered just before halftime. Freshman midfielder Kelly Knaup sent a through ball to Monica Ramirez, who touched the ball by the keeper and into the net.
But Vicky Caballero and Anahi Hernandez each scored goals in the second half for Palomar for the 3-1 victory.
Freshman goalie Christina Huapaya finished with six saves for the Lasers.
Palomar improved its record to 1-1.
Irvine Valley plays again on Friday, hosting Grossmont in a nonconference game at 3 p.m.
