Women's soccer team nips Santa Ana

The Irvine Valley women's soccer team beat Santa Ana, 1-0, for its first win in Orange Empire Conference play.
The game was scoreless for 88 minutes before sophomore Cassidy Minko beat the Santa Ana College defense and scored the long goal of the game. Sophomore Julie Leguizamo picked up the assist on the goal.
Goalie Lupe Jimenez made two saves in goal for the Lasers. Santa Ana's Karla Mandujano had five saves.
Irvine Valley improved its record to 3-8-3 overall and 1-3-3 in conference. Santa Ana slipped to 2-11 overall and 0-8 in conference.
The Lasers play again Tuesday, hosting Orange Coast in a conference match at 3 p.m.
