Women's Soccer Coaching Staff
Simon Davies is in his fifth year of guiding the Irvine Valley women's soccer team.
He has an extensive background in college coaching.
Davies, who is originally from England, spent two years running the men’s program at Albion College in Michigan in the late 1980’s.
From there he went on to coach the men’s team at UC Davis for seven years.
Davies was in London, England for five years before taking over the IVC women's program in 2004. He was coaching and lecturing at the University of Greenwich in London.
In his 13 years of college coaching he's had six All-Americans and four players that went on to play professionally.
Davies, who is a former collegiate and semi-professional player himself, has also spent a great deal of time coaching youth teams.
He is also a former Olympic Development Program coach and spent five years on the coaching staff of the California Youth Soccer Association’s North region.
He has his USSF “A” coaching license and an FA coaching license.
Davies received his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Birmingham in England and both his Master’s degree and Ph.D. from Louisiana State University.
Davies is a British Association for Sport & Exercise Science accredited sports psychologist.
He received his Ph.D. in sports psychology. Davies also has a Master’s in Human Kinetics degree from Windsor University in Ontario, Canada. He teaches Nutrition, Sports Psychology and Exercise Psychology at Irvine Valley.
