Freshman Nicole Rivera shot 6 over par for the Irvine Valley women's golf team to earn co-medalist honors on the par 74 Los Serranos South Course on Monday in the first of two scheduled five-team matches.

Rivera's round included two birdies, eight pars and eight bogeys on the hilly, long south course.

IVC sophomore Sam Roberts had the fourth best round of this event with an 8 over par. Roberts' round included two birdies, nine pars, five bogeys, one double and one triple bpogey.

Freshman Tiffany Kane tied for the sixth best score with a 13 over par score of 87. Kane had one birdie, seven pars, six bogeys and four double bogeys. 

Saddleback won the event, picking up 4 wins to move into a tie with Santiago Canyon for the conference lead.

Both teams now have only one conference loss.

Rivera leads the conference in scoring and Roberts is in second place, a couple of strokes behind.

Irvine Valley plays again on Wednesday against Saddleback at Arroyo Trabuco.
