The three members of the Irvine Valley women's golf team all finished among the top five at the Orange Empire Conference Tee Off Classic on Wednesday at the El Prado Golf Course.
Playing the Butterfield Course, freshman Nicole Rivera finished with a 1 over par score of 73. Her round included two birdies, 13 pars and three bogeys.
Rivera was at her best on the back, nine posted a 2 under par score of 34.
Sophomore Sam Roberts finished with a 3 over par score of 75. Her round included one birdie, 13 pars and four bogeys.
And freshman Tiffany Kane shot a 8 over par score of 80 with her round including one birdie, 11 pars, three bogeys and three double bogeys.
Roberts and Kane both finished strong, playing the back nine with an even par score of 36.
Saddleback defeated Santiago Canyon, 326-327, to win the team title. IVC wasn't eligible for the team crown at the event because it didn't have the required four players.
Irvine Valley will finish the nonconference portion of its schedule on Sept. 10 when it travels to Palm Springs for the two-day Desert Classic Invitational. The tournament is expected to draw 14 of the top teams in the state.
