Women's golf team bounces back with win

After suffering its first defeat of the season on Monday, the Irvine Valley women's golf team bounced back by defeating all four teams in an Orange Empire Conference match on Wednesday in 100-degree heat at Los Serranos in Chino Hills.
IVC beat the team it lost to on Monday, Santiago Canyon, by 13 strokes on Wednesday to improve its record to 19-1 in conference.
The Lasers finished with a team score of 332. Santiago Canyon was next at 345. Santa Ana finished third at 361 and Saddleback (394) and Fullerton (517) rounded out the scores.
For IVC, freshman Felicia Titus led the way as the medalist (low scorer of the day). Titus, who leads the conference in scoring on the season, finished with a 5 over par total of 79 on the Los Serranos south course.
Titus edged IVC teammate Sam Roberts and Santiago Canyon's Jessica Ko, who each finished at 82.
The third scorer for the Lasers was sophomore Alex Cavillo at 84 and sophomore Courtney Schroeder at 87.
IVC's throwout scores were 92 by sophomore Val Watts and 96 by freshman Bianca Brown.
Irvine Valley plays another conference match next Monday, hosting Santiago Canyon, Santa Ana, Saddleback and Fullerton at Oak Creek.
