The freshmen continued to shine for the Irvine Valley women's golf team.
First it was Samantha Roberts earning medalist honors to pace the Lasers' third-place finish in the South Coast Classic Invitational last week.
Then on Wednesday, Felicia Titus shot 79 to lead Irvine Valley to second-place honors in the Orange Empire Conference Tee-Off Classic at El Prado in Chino Hills.
The tournament featured all the teams in the conference. IVC finished second with a score of 339. Defending conference champion Santiago Canyon won the event with a four-player score of 329. Santa Ana was third at 365 and Saddleback was next at 394.
Titus' 79 included 1 birdie and was the second best score of the day.
Sophomore Alex Calvillo was next for IVC with a score of 85. Sophomore Val Watts carded an 87 and Roberts came in at 88.
Freshman Bianca Brown had IVC's throw-out score of 96.
IVC travels today to Palm Springs to play Friday and Saturday in the Desert Invitational.
Many of the top community college teams in California travel to compete in this annual tournament.
