Irvine Valley women's basketball team has received commitments from four players for the 2009-10 season, announced head coach Julie Hanks. They are 5-10 forward Tyne McClure from Vista High, 5-6 combo guard Alexis Anaya from Vista High, 5-5 shooting guard Ashley Fajardo from Mission Viejo High and 5-2 point guard Lauryn Santos from Aliso Niguel High.McClure led Vista in scoring and rebounding last season. She averaged 13.5 points and 9.3 rebounds. She also shot 55 percent from the field on the season.Her best game was a 23-point, 17-rebound performance in her team's win over Horizon.Anaya was third on the Vista team in scoring, averaging 6.7 points. She also averaged 2.7 rebounds and a team-high 2.7 assists for the Panthers. Anaya had a season-high 20 points for Vista in a win over Granite Hills.Fajardo was second on the Mission Viejo team in scoring, averaging 12.1 points per game. She also averaged 2.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.7 steals.Fajardo had a season-high 24 points in her team's win over Long Beach Jordan. She also helped the Diablos make the CIF playoffs this past season.Santos averaged 1.4 points and helped direct the Wolverine offense during the 2008-09 season.Irvine Valley finished with a record of 16-14 overall this past season. The Lasers return a number of players next year, including all-Orange Empire Conference player Erika Garcia and forward Sydney Hughes.
