Rough night for women's basketball team in Riverside

The Irvine Valley women's basketball team saw its record slip to 0-3 in Orange Empire Conference play with a 58-37 loss to Riverside Wednesday night in Riverside.
Riverside, which had dropped five of its last six games, snapped a three-game losing streak.
Riverside, despite shooting 35 percent (20 of 56)
from the floor, controlled the game from start to finish. The Tigers
(1-2, 10-11) used a 13-2 run to take a 18-8 lead and never looked back.
With 1:22 remaining in the half, the Tigers had built a 26-12 lead.
The Lasers finished with more turnovers (21) than field goals
made (15). Irvine Valley managed to fire off 73, with 41 coming in the
second half.
The
two teams each had two players score in double figures.
For Irvine
Valley (0-3, 12-9), Courtney Kollasch scored 16 of the Lasers' 37
points.
Teammate Erika Garcia added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
For
Riverside, sophomore Kymberly Ooten scored 11 points and freshman Maria
Mesa-Nauls added 10 points.
Irvine Valley plays at Saddleback on Friday in another conference game at 5:30 p.m.
