Grossmont 79 - Reedley 63 (consolation final)
Grossmont's LaKenya Simon-West named to the all tournament team after posting 34 points and 15 rebounds. She made 11 of 17 shots from the field, was 5 of 8 on three-pointers and knocked down 7 of 11 free throws.
Grossmont had 24 assists on its 30 made field goals. Michelle Gonzalez had 9 assists to go along with 6 steals and Natalia Del Bene had 6 assists and 12 points for Grossmont.
Sydney D'Angelo chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds and Brittany Robinson finished with 12 rebounds and 4 steals for the Griffins.
Reedley was paced by Monique Reed's 19 points off the bench. Sarina Herevia had 16 points and 7 assists and Blair Scott finished with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals.
Rio Hondo 64 - Merced 48 (3rd place game)
Natalee Venegas led Rio Hondo with 20 points (made 6 of 9 three-pointers) off the bench in the win.
Champaign Hood added 11 points and 5 rebounds and Amanda Ragains had 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the Roadrunners. Rio Hondo led, 35-11, at the end of the first half.
Merced playd better in the second half, out-scoring Rio Hondo, 37-29. The Blue Devils were paced by Courtney Whitehurst, who had 14 points and 7 rebounds, and Aariona Breazell, who finished with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Tineka Spencer added a team-high 8 rebounds.
Chaffey 53 - Irvine Valley 51 - OT (championship final)
It was Chaffey's third-straight title and the second year in a row the Panthers beat IVC in the final.
It couldn't have been much closer in what was a tough, defensive battle. The game was tied, 23-23, at halftime and, 43-43, at the end of regulation. Chaffey got two big baskets from Arione Nabors (scored all 5 of her points in overtime) and a clutch free throw from Tamesha Jackson in overtime.
Chaffey was 4 of 8 from the field in overtime after making just 5 of 24 field goal attempts in the second half. Chaffey shot only 28.8 percent for the game (19 of 66). IVC wasn't any better, shooting 28.6 percent (16 of 56) in the contest.
Arielle McClellan was named the tournament's most valuable player. She finished with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 5 steals in the final. Aundria Anderson added 10 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists and Tamesha Jackson chipped in 6 points and 6 steals.
Courtney Kollasch was picked to the all-tournament team from IVC. Kollasch, who made a driving lay-up to tie the game at the end of regulation, had 21 points and 7 rebounds. Ashley Dunn finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
IVC hurt itself with turnovers, committing 27, including 15 in the first half.
