IVC Women's Basketball Tournament starts Thursday

The Irvine Valley women's basketball team will try and get back to the finals of its own tournament this weekend.
The fourth annual IVC Women's Tournament runs Thursday through Saturday at the college.
There are four games both Thursday and Friday and three games on Saturday.
Irvine Valley, which fell to Chaffey in last year's final, opens up on Thursday against College of the Desert at 6 p.m.
Games are at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
The consolation title game is at 12 p.m. on Saturday with the third-place game following at 2 p.m. and championship game at 4 p.m.
There is a strong field of eight teams in this year's event.
Rio Hondo (11-0 overall) is ranked fifth in the state in the latest poll. Rio Hondo moved from 10th to fifth in the state afte winning the Cypress Tournament last week.
The Roadrunners, who are also ranked third in Southern California, have already won three tournament titles so far this season.
They are led by freshman Cynthia Duarte, who is averaging 17.5 points per game.
Chaffey, which is the two-time defending champion of the IVC tourney, is ranked 16th in the state and 10th in Southern California and Merced is ranked 12th in Northern California.
Last year's tournament MVP, Keisha Mackall, returns for Chaffey.
Irvine Valley isn’t ranked, but received votes in both the state and Southern California polls this week.
Irvine Valley (7-2) has won five straight games. The Lasers are led by freshman Courtney Kollasch, who is averaging 12.2 points per game.
Also in the field are Grossmont, San Diego Mesa and Reedley.
