Women's basketball team wins second straight

The Irvine Valley women's basketball team is riding a two-game win streak.
The Lasers won Friday night at Glendale, 71-57, to improve their record to 4-2 on the season.
IVC out-scored Glendale, 43-29, in the second half for the victory.
Freshman Erika Garcia paced the squad with 14 points, while freshman Brittney Horton and sophomore Ashley Dunn each added 13 points.
"It was a great team effort," Coach Julie Hanks said of the win at Glendale. "We had a lot of different people contribute."
Freshman Courtney Kollasch contributed 10 points and freshman Ivy Melo chipped in seven points.
Irvine Valley is led on the season by Kollasch, who is averaging 11.7 points per game and Dunn and Garcia, who are each averaging 10.7 points a game.
Dunn is leading the team in rebounds at 7.8 per game and Horton is averaging 7.6 boards per game.
As a team, IVC is averaging 54.8 points per game.
Irvine Valley plays again Saturday, hosting LA Valley at 6 p.m.
