Games took place Thursday, Dec. 6 at Irvine Valley's Hart Gymnasium

Irvine Valley defeated San Diego Mesa, 71-55
San Diego Mesa - Amanda Mills 22 points, Joy Edwards 15 points, 16 rebounds
Irvine Valley - DJ Butler 19 points, 10 rebounds, Ahsley Dunn 12 points, 7 rebounds, Megan Benbow 10 points
IVC out-rebounds San Diego Mesa, 56-45. The Lasers also have a solid 18 assists to just 12 turnovers and help force 19 San Diego Mesa turnovers 

Rio Hondo defeated Golden West, 90-80
Golden West - Heather Habekost 29 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, Monica Chavez 11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, Deena Hyman 11 points, 8 rebounds
Rio Hondo - Reina Sosa 21 points, 8 rebounds, Champaign Hood 20 points, 13 rebounds, Elena Agabao 14 points
Golden West trailed 46-29 at halftime but shot 55 percent in the second half (22 of 40) to make it a game

Chaffey defeated Merced, 58-38
Merced - Fantasia Newsome 10 points, Kenyatta Harper 6 points, 13 rebounds
Chaffey - Christina Warren 25 points, 7 rebounds, Aundria Anderson 7 points, 9 rebounds, Tamesha Jackson 8 points
Merced shot just 21.9 percent from the field in the game (14 of 64)

Grossmont defeated College of the Desert, 62-52
Desert - Charlene Cota 21 points, 6 rebounds, Christin Graves 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, Brianca Barragan 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals
Grossmont - Shatori Dearman 14 points, 9 rebounds, Liz Riedel 13 points, Michelle Gonzalez 13 points, 6 rebuounds, 4 assists
Desert led 27-25 at halftime, but Grossmont shot 51.9 percent from the floor in the second half (14 of 27) to come back for the win
Desert shot just 23.2 percent from the field in the game (16 of 69) and the two teams combined for 56 turnovers


Second Day Sechedule (Dec. 7)

2 p.m. - Golden West vs. Merced (consolation semifinals)
4 p.m. - San Diego Mesa vs. Desert (consolation semifinals)
6 p.m. - Rio Hondo vs. Chaffey (championship semifinals)
6 p.m. - Grossmont vs. Irvine Valley (championship semifinals)


Games on Saturday, Dec. 8 are at 12 p.m. (consolation championship), 2 p.m. (third-place game) and 4 p.m. (championship final)
