The Irvine Valley women's basketball team wrapped up its 2006-07 season with a 67-46 victory over Golden West last Friday night on the road.
The win snapped a six-game losing streak for the Lasers.
They finished their season with a record of 11-17 overall and a 3-11 mark in Orange Empire Conference play.
Irvine Valley ended up in seventh place in the conference standings.
The Lasers fell behind, 6-0, early, but turned things around later in the half.
They were up, 37-22, at halftime and then cruised to the win.
Irvine Valley was led by sophomore point guard Danyelle Swenson, who had 28 points.
She made 8 of 14 shots from the field, 6 of 10 from behind the three point line and was 6 of 7 from the free throw line. Swenson also added five assists and two steals.
It was Swenson's second straight game with 20 points and the fourth time she has broken the 20-point plateau in a game this season. Her high for the season was 29 points in a win over Riverside during the first round of conference play.
Sophomore forward Emily Luckeroth added 11 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals for Irvine Valley.
Freshman forward Zoe Armas chipped in with nine points off the bench and freshman forward Nicole Tait contributed eight points and a team-high 12 rebounds in the win for the Lasers.
Irvine Valley shot 41.8 percent (23 of 55) from the floor in the game compared to Golden West's 27.1 percent (19 of 70). Golden West did out-rebound Irvine Valley, 53-38, with 27 of those rebounds coming on the offensive end.
Irvine Valley returns all but two players to next year's squad.
The team is planning its banquet for March 28.
