Thursday, Dec. 7 - First Round
Golden West 77 - Compton 64 - (Jessica Jones led Golden West with 29 points and 13 rebounds and Siutiti Takai came off the bench to add 25 points and 16 rebounds. Compton was paced by Antoinitta Veto, who had 17 points and 13 rebounds, and Cinnamon Allen, who finished with 16 points and 7 rebounds.)
San Diego Mesa 48 - Merced 43 - (San Diego Mesa held on for the win despite shooting just 15.4 percent from the field in the second half. San Diego Mesa led, 35-15, at halftime. Joy Edwards and Kelsy Ash each had 13 points for Mesa. Pamiela Bounkhoune finished with 13 points to lead Merced.)
Chaffey 60 - IVC 52- (IVC led, 25-19, at halftime, but was outscored, 41-27, in the second half. Irvine Valley committed 28 turnovers in the game and was out-rebounded, 50-36. Danyelle Swenson had 13 points and Kayla Acromite finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Lasers. Chaffey had four players score in double figures - led by Brittani Smith and Christina Warren, who each had 12 points. Warren also finished with 11 rebounds and three blocks.)
College of the Desert 64 - Grossmont 47 - (Desert got an impressive game from Crystal Gonzalez. She finished with 27 points and 9 rebounds. Gonzalez made 9 of 14 shots from the field, including going 6 of 10 from behind the three-point line. Mya Ross added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the Roadrunners. Grossmont was led by Kylie Pitts, who had 15 points and 4 assists, and Alexandra Smelser, who finished with 11 points and 5 rebounds.)
