Basketball player Vanessa Dominguez signs with Cal Poly Pomona

Irvine Valley College women's basketball coach Julie Hanks announced that sophomore forward Vanessa Dominguez (Mission Viejo High) has signed with Division II Cal Poly Pomona.
The 5-9 Dominguez, was dominant for the Lasers for the past two years.
She was named first team all-Orange Empire Conference both years and picked as a second-team all-state player and a Kodak honorable mention All-American in 2005-06.
Dominguez broke school records in points and rebounds for a season and a career.
She finished her two years at Irvine Valley with 1,073 points and 659 rebounds.
Dominguez had 584 points and 358 points this past season, averaging 19.5 points and 11.9 rebounds a game.
For her career she averaged 18.8 points and 11.9 rebounds per game.
Dominguez also became the school’s career steals leader with 192, including a season-record 113 in 2005-06, and had a remarkable 42 double-doubles (points and rebounds) in her two years at Irvine Valley.
Dominguez is headed to a Cal Poly Pomona team that finished with a record of 11-16 overall last season.
