Irvine Valley volleyball summer camp information

Irvine Valley head volleyball coach Tom Pestolesi announced that the college's annual summer camp will be held from Aug. 3-7.

The camp is for volleyball players ages 8-18 and the cost is $100 per player. Camp hours are from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

IVC will also be hosting another summer camp. On Thursday, Aug. 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday, Aug. 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Irvine Valley is pleased to have the Debbie Green Setting Clinic in Hart Gymnasium.

The setting camp is for players ages 12-18. The cost is $100 per player.

Debbie Green is considered the greatest setter in the history of USA women's volleyball.

She was a two-time national champion at USC and also an All-American player for the Trojans.

Green was the setter on the 1984 Olympic silver medal winning team. She is a member of the USC Hall of Fame and the International Volleyball Hall of Fame.

Green coached at Long Beach State for 22 years and led the 49ers to three national championships. She has trained All-Americans Sheri Sanders, Sabrina Hernandez, Joy McKenzie-Feurbringer, Keri Nishimoto, Misty May and her daughter Nicole Green.
