Six Irvine Valley College men's volleyball players were recently named to the all-Pacific Coast Conference team.
The Lasers shared the Pacific Coast Conference title with Orange Coast this season and went on to capture the school's second ever state title.
The conference title was the team's second straight. The Lasers won the Orange Empire Conference championship in 2006.
Freshman outside hitter Peter Johnson was named the Pacific Coast Conference most valuable player after averaging 4.55 kills and 1.47 digs per game and hitting .369 on the season.
Johnson led Irvine Valley in kills in 18 of 20 matches this season.

Freshman libero Sean Grubbs was named to the all-conference first team after averaging 2.54 digs per game.
Freshman setter Tyler Rex was named first team all-conference after averaging 13.27 assists per game.

Freshman middle blockers Ted Slaughter and Bryan Simmons and freshman outside hitter Marcus Fernandez were each named second team all-conference.
Slaughter averaged 2.31 kills and 1.23 blocks per game and hit .335 on the season. Simmons averaged 2.59 kills and hit a team-best .478 and Fernandez finished second oon the team in kills, averaged 3.20 kills per game and hit .366.
