Men's tennis program wins 100th match

The Irvine Valley men's tennis team finished its regular season with a milestone victory two weeks ago.
The Lasers' 7-2 triumph over Orange Coast, on April 12 at Irvine Valley was the program's 100th win.
Irvine Valley won all six singles contests. Picking up victories in
singles for the team were Dan Loney, Tyler Jung, Andrew Heatherly,
Justin Shomaker and Sam Choe.
The win also qualified Irvine Valley (12-4) for the Southern California team championships.
Eight teams from Southern California play in the event.
The Lasers, who finished third in the Orange Empire Conference, were to
meet Grossmont on Thursday in Ventura in the first round of the team
playoffs.
Irvine Valley is having one of its better seasons in recent years.
The Lasers defeated Saddleback for the first time ever earlier this
season. The Lasers actually took down the Gauchos both times this year.
Irvine Valley beat Saddleback, 5-4, on March 27 with Heatherly, Choe
and Kaveh Chavoshpour each pulling out key singles victories for the
Lasers.
Irvine Valley followed that win up with a 6-3 win over Saddleback on April 11.
Loney, Heatherly, Shomaker, Choe and Chavoshpour all won singles matches for the Lasers against the Gauchos.
Irvine Valley players Loney, Heatherly, Jung, Choe and Shomaker are
also competing in the community college division of the 106th Ojai
Valley Tournament this weekend.
Loney and Heatherly are playing singles and Loney and Jung and Choe and Shomaker are teaming up in doubles.
