Men's tennis team breezes by Fullerton

The Irvine Valley men’s team defeated Fullerton, 8-1, on the road for its first Orange Empire Conference win of the year last Thursday.
The Lasers improved their record to 4-2 overall and 1-2 in conference.
Irvine Valley won five of six singles matches and all three doubles contests. Sophomore Daniel Loney won, 6-4, 6-4, at the No. 1 singles position. Freshman Tyler Jung won, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2 singles for the Lasers.
Sophomore Andrew Heatherly was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at No. 3 singles, freshman Justin Shomaker won, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4 singles and sophomore Sam Choe won, 6-3, 6-3, in the No. 5 spot for Irvine Valley.
Heatherly and Shomaker teamed at No. 1 doubles to win, 8-6. Loney and freshman Jason Croudace won, 8-2, at No. 2 doubles and sophomore Charles Dahms and freshman Casey Topping earned an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles for the Lasers.
Irvine Valley plays at Orange Coast on Tuesday in a conference match.
