Men's tennis team wins third in a row

The Irvine Valley men's tennis team had little trouble with El Camino in a non-conference match on the road Tuesday afternoon, winning, 9-0.
The Lasers lost only four games total in five singles matches. They received a default at No. 6 singles.
Irvine Valley also won both doubles matches played. They also received a default at the No. 3 doubles position.
Freshmen Tyler Jung (at the No. 3 singles), Justin Shomaker (at No. 4 singles) and Peter Hasrouni (at No. 5 singles) each won matches, 6-0, 6-0.
Sophomores Dan Loney and Andrew Heatherly also breezed at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spots. Loney won, 6-2, 6-0, and Heatherly won, 6-1, 6-0.
Loney, Jung and Hasrouni each improved their singles record to 3-0 on the season.
In doubles, Loney and Jung teamed at the No. 1 position to win, 8-2, and the No. 2 team of Hasrouni and sophomore Charles Dahms won, 8-5.
Irvine Valley is off until Feb. 23 when it opens Orange Empire Conference action against Riverside at home.
The Lasers could challenge for second place in conference. Defending champion College of the Desert is expected to repeat.
