IVC Men's Tennis Coaching Staff
John Goss - Head Coach
John Goss is in his second year as the head coach for Irvine Valley men's tennis after a long run as the program's assistant coach. He is also a former standout player at IVC.
He was a four-year varsity player at Foothill High. John qualified for CIF individuals in doubles (1999) and singles (2000) while playing for the Knights.
John was a first team all-Orange Empire Conference player as a freshman at Irvine Valley in 2001. He went undefeated in conference singles play, while qualifying for both singles and doubles regional competition that same season.
He has privately coached and trained top Southern California junior tennis players and was an assistant coach at Irvine Valley from 2005-2010 before becoming co head coach with long-time head coach and IVC tennis founder Mike Meissenburg.
"The IVC tennis program is one of character and class," Goss said. "Mike and Joan Meissenburg have created a great legacy that has produced a lot of fantastic tennis players over the years.
"More importantly, Mike and Joan are much more proud of the fact that IVC tennis players have gone on to prestigious universities where they excelled academically and pursued their dream careers.
"As the new men's head coach, I have high hopes to continue the tennis legacy initiated by Mike Meissenburg over 20 years ago as IVC's inaugural coach. Going forward, I am excited about all of the opportunities that are available to everyone involved with this program.
"Through hard work, dedication, and a strong resolve, players will maximize potential and ultimately develop great team chemistry."
