The Irvine Valley men's soccer team competed to a 1-1 tie with host Orange Coast on Friday in an Orange Empire Conference match at the OCC Soccer Complex.
OCC (9-7-1, 6-3-1) jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 54th minute when Dean Regis sent a well-played pass down to Denny Perdomo, who slipped a pass to Omid Kazemi.
From there, the freshman midfielder ripped a steep-angle shot off IVC goalkeeper Kurt Bond and into the back of the net.
IVC tied the match in the 82nd minute when Chris Popke dribbled through the Coast defense and found an opening with a left-footed shot into the upper-right portion of the net.
The teams played to a scoreless tie in the first half.
Bond finished with six saves.
Irvine Valley's record moved to 3-9-4 overall and 1-6-3 in conference play.
The Lasers play again on Tuesday, taking on Santiago Canyon on the road at 3 p.m. IVC's next home contest is on Friday, Nov. 6 against Golden West at 1 p.m.
