Men's soccer team ties at Golden West
Oct 13, 2009
The Irvine Valley men's soccer team played to its second straight tie, drawing with Golden West, 1-1, in an Orange Empire Conference match on the road Tuesday afternoon.
The tie moved IVC's record to 2-6-3 overall and 0-3-2 in conference play.
The Lasers trailed, 1-0, until inside of the final 10 minutes.
IVC equalized off a goal by Hyun-Jun Park, which was his first of the season. The play started with a throw in by Facunda Chena to Luis Miguel.
Miguel passed to Park, who then found the back of the net.
And the Lasers nearly pulled out the win with seconds remaining. A goal was called back for offsides just before the final whistle blew.
Irvine Valley's Julio Trejo finished with three saves in goal.
The Lasers play again on Friday, hosting defending conference champion Santa Ana at 3 p.m.
