Men's soccer team bounces back with win

The Irvine Valley men's soccer team scored two goals in the second half and came away with a 2-0 Orange Empire Conference win over Cypress on Tuesday afternoon at Cypress.
The Lasers were coming off a 3-1 loss to Santa Ana on Oct. 12.
Irvine Valley wasn't at its best in the first half against Cypress, but the Lasers stepped up in the second half to pull out the win.
The Lasers got goals from freshman forward Corey Cordray and sophomore forward Erik Van Der Meulen in the victory. Van Der Meulen also assisted on Cordray's goal.
Cordray's goal was his team-leading eight of the season.
IVC freshman goalie Mikhail Radchuk recorded his fourth shutout of the season. He made four saves.
Irvine Valley improved its record to 8-4-2 overall and 3-2-2 in conference action.
The Lasers start the second round of conference play on Friday, hosting Riverside at 1 p.m.
Riverside and IVC tied, 4-4, the first time the two teams played. Riverside was the highest scoring team in conference heading into this weeks action, having scored 31 goals in its 14 matches.
