The Irvine Valley men's soccer team remained in a tie for first place in the Orange Empire Conference with a convincing 6-2 win at Riverside Tuesday afternoon.
The victory lifted the Lasers' record to 11-3-2 overall and 7-1-1 in conference play. IVC is tied with Santa Ana for first place in the standings.
The six goals were the most scored by Irvine Valley this season.
Leading the way was sophomore midfielder Greg Ricks with two goals. They were his first goals of the season.
Freshman striker Luis Miguel scored his team-leading ninth goal of the year. He paces the team with 21 points (nine goals and three assists).
Also scoring for Irvine Valley were freshman Beau Campbell, freshman Christian Correa-Henschki and sophomore Chad Murray. The goals were Correa-Henschki and Murray's first of the season.
Freshman Jesus Olivera had to make just two saves in goal in helping earn the win for Irvine Valley.
The Lasers play again on Friday, traveling to Fullerton for a conference match at 3 p.m.
