The Irvine Valley men's golf team defeated Riverside at Oak Creek on Wednesday in the squad's final Orange Empire Conference match.But the Lasers fell to both Orange Coast and Palomar in the contest, which was played in cold and windy conditions.Irvine Valley finished with a team score of 404 to edge Riverside's total of 412.Orange Coast came in at 376 and Palomar finished at 378.Team captain Adam Ruppert paced IVC with a score of 74. His last nine holes included an eagle, three birdies, a par, two bogeys and two double bogeys."Adam's hard earned 74 appears to have earned him a spot in the individuals section of the conference championships with a season scoring average of 76.1," Irvine Valley Coach Ben Burnett said.Joey Fuscardo and Joe Chun posted scores of 80. Daniel Neben shot an 84. Neben still has a chance to qualify as an individual for the conference finals.Sylvain Debiais finished with a score of 92, which will most likely keep him out of the conference tournament, according to Burnett.Burnett said Josepn Filia and Debiais will be the only two returners to the 2010 squad. Filia scored an 86 by playing the final 10 holes at 2 over par on Wednesday.
