The Irvine Valley men's golf team couldn't match Cuyamaca on Wednesday in an Orange Empire Conference match at Cottonwood Golf Course in El Cajon.

Cuyamaca played excellent golf to defeat Irvine Valley, Orange Coast and Riverside.

Cuyamaca finished with a team score of 361. Orange Coast was at 368, Irvine Valley finished at 394 and Riverside was at 395.

The loss dropped Irvine Valley's record to 3-3 overall.

Cuyamaca had two players score under par and threw out a sixth man score of 77.

"Our goal on the road is to average scores from par 72 to 76," IVC Coach Ben Burnett said. "We did not play up to that standard. Even if we had, Cuyamaca would have earned the wins."

Joey Fuscardo paced IVC's effort with one birdie, 11 pars and six bogeys for a 77. Joe Chun, Daniel neben and Dane Thomas all scored 79.

Sylvain Debiais posted an 80. Team Captain Adam Ruppert posted the sixth man throw out score of 82.

IVC's next conference match is next Wednesday at the Los Serranos South Course. The match host is Santa Ana.
