The Irvine Valley men's golf team couldn't get by Saddleback on Monday at Tijeras Creek in an Orange Empire Conference match-up.

Saddleback finished with a score of 371 to Irvine Valley's 392.
Santa Ana did beat Saddleback, 367-371.

"Nothing new to report," Irvine Valley Coach Ben Burnett said. "Teams that score higher than in the 370 range will have difficulty in winning a match due to the high talent quality spread throughout our conference."

Burnett said, as has been the pattern all season, that his team had mixed results on Monday.

"Three players playing well and three players posting non-competitive scores," he said.

Co-captain Troy Davis lead the IVC team with a 1 over par 73. He had four birdies, nine pars and five bogeys.

Freshman Drew Exon was next at 5 over par 77. Exon suffered a two stroke penalty after not being able to locate a tee shot within the five minutes allowable search time on one hole.
Exon had two birdies, 11 pars, four bogeys and one triple bogey.

Freshman Cole Fisher also posted a 77, finishing with two birdies, 11 pars, four bogeys and one triple bogey.

Sophomore Dominik Pietschmann came in at 82 and freshman Adam Ruppert completed the team scoring with an 83.

Sophomore Aaron Levine had the team throw out score of 86.

IVC next takes on Santa Ana in a conference match at Los Serranos on Wednesday.

Irvine Valley figures to be the underdog in the remaining conference contests.
