The Irvine Valley men's golf team lost to Riverside by two strokes on Monday in an Orange Empire Conference match at the Victoria Country Club in Riverside.

Irvine Valley's record fell to 3-4 overall.

Irvine Valley has lost three of its four conference matches by three strokes or less.

"The challenge remains to make aggressive tee shots toward conservative targets and to do a better job of controling the speed of the first putt," Burnett said. 
"I have advised the team that how they play the par 3 holes and the par 5 holes will determine the outcome of close matches.

"The goal against Riverside was to play the par 3 holes with a team score of 5 over par, We posted a team score of 17 over par. The team goal on the par 5 holes is even par, or better. We played the Victoia Club's par 5 holes at 10 over par. For the freshmen, it is a learning process."

Irvine Valley was led by freshman Drew Exon, who finsihed at 78. Freshman Adam Rupert and sophomore Aaron Levin came in at 80 and freshman Cole Fisher and sophomore Diminik Pietschmann shot 81.
