Santiago Canyon avenged an earlier conference loss to the Irvine Valley men's golf team by shooting a team score of 9 over par on Wednesday at El Prado Golf Course in Chino.
Host Santiago Canyon finished at 369, Santa Ana was at 371 and Irvine Valley's score was 379.
Santiago Canyon picked up two wins and Irvine Valley and Santa Ana each took a loss.
The 10 stroke loss was the biggest margin that IVC has been defeated by this season.
And the Lasers' record dropped to 3-5 on the year.
"We could just as easily be 6-2," IVC Coach Ben Burnett said. "Three of our five losses have been by three strokes or less."
Some inconsistent play has hurt the Lasers so far.
"This six man line-up was recruited to shoot a score of 4 over par 76 or less each time they played," Burnett said. "I am not surprised when freshmen are inconsistent. They don't know the golf courses and are accustomed to playing 9 hole high school matches.
"I am disappointed when our sophomore veterans are inconsistent.
"In each match, we've had three players shoot scores that are outstanding, only to see their efforts offset by three team members shoot scores above 76. My desire is to get the total team into post season play."
For Irvine Valley, freshmen Cole Fisher and Drew Exon led the way on Wednesday with scores of 73. Ho had three birdies, 11 pars and four bogeys.
Exon came in with four birdies, 10 pars, three bogeys and one double bogey.
Sophomore Aaron Levine finished at 76, sophomore Troy Davis scored 77 and sophomore Dominik Pietschmann carded an 80.
Irvine Valley takes on Saddleback at Tijeras Creek on Monday.
