Irvine Valley men's golfer Troy Davis had the lowest score of the day on Wednesday to earn medalist honors, but Orange Coast still defeated the visiting Lasers, 391-409, in an Orange Empire Conference match at the Santa Ana Golf Club.
Visiting Santiago Canyon scored 385 and Palomar scored 388 to pick up wins over Orange Coast.
Davis shot a score of 73 to lead the way for IVC. But only one other Laser player was in the 70's and that was Luke Bonzer at 79.
Mark Toscano shot 80, Dane Thomas carded 86, Andy Hernandez came in at 91 and Dominik Pietschmann scored 93.
Irvine Valley will next compete in the conference finals at Los Serranos Golf Course in Chino Hills on Monday. The 36-hole event will be played on both the north and south courses.
