The Irvine Valley College men's golf team picked up it's second win of the season, defeating Orange Coast College by a single stroke Monday in an Orange Empire Conference match at Oak Creek Golf Club.
But the Lasers also suffered two losses on Monday, losing to Saddleback and Riverside.
Saddleback scored 364 and had a throw out score of 76. The Gauchos were paced by Gavin Reid's 2 under par 69.
Riverside upset IVC with a team score of 382. The Tigers were paced by Kenny Pigman's 2 over par 73.
Troy Davis, Huntington Beach graduate, provided the only competitive score for Irvine Valley.
Davis had two birdies, 11 pars, four bogeys and a double bogey to shoot a 4 over par 75.
Dominik Pietschmann scored 81, Mark Toscano and Luke Bonzer scored 82, Dane Thomas and Thomas Destaing scored 83 each for the Lasers.
"I was disappointed for the team," Irvine Valley Coach Ben Burnett said. "They know that they have to score in the 370's to be competitive in the Orange Empire Conference."
Irvine Valley's next conference match is next Monday against Saddleback at Tijeras Creek. First tee time is 7 a.m.
