Men's golf team takes care of Santa Ana

Led by Jimmy Willingham’s 1 under par score of 71 and Cory Cannon’s even par score of 72, the Irvine Valley men’s golf team defeated Santa Ana, 368-393, on Monday in an Orange Empire Conference match at the par 72 North Course at Los Serranos in Chino Hills.
Irvine Valley’s score was a team low for the season. The squad ended up 8 over par.
Also adding to Irvine Valley were Bret Becker, who shot a 1 over par 73 and Brad Chamberlin, who finished at 2 over par 74. Aaron Levine completed the team score, with a 78.
Karolis Raudys had the throw out score for Irvine Valley with an 87.
Santiago Canyon shot 369 and Cuyamaca shot 385 to also pick up wins against Santa Ana.
For Irvine Valley, Willingham had one eagle, three birdies, 10 pars and four bogeys for his 1 under par 71 and Cannon shot an impressive 4 under par 32 on the final nine holes to offset a 40 on the front nine holes.
Cannon had five birdies, eight pars and five bogeys overall.
Irvine Valley was in fifth place in the conference standings. It takes on Orange Coast at Santa Ana Country Club on Wednesday.
