Men's basketball team set to host 15th Annual Irvine Valley Classic on Thursday

The 15th Annual Irvine Valley College Classic Men's Basketball Tournament will be held Thursday, Nov. 19 through Saturday, Nov. 21 in Hart Gymnasium on the campus of Irvine Valley.
The tournament features a strong lineup of eight teams with four games on both Thursday and Friday and three games on Saturday.
Games on Thursday are at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. with games on Friday at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
On Saturday, the consolation championship will be played at 12 p.m., the third place game at 2 p.m. and the championship at 4 p.m.
Opening day action on Thursday includes Santa Monica playing defending champion Long Beach City at 2 p.m., Imperial Valley facing off against Ventura at 4 p.m., Canyons taking on Irvine Valley at 6 p.m. and Cerritos facing Cuyamaca at 8 p.m.
Irvine Valley placed third in the tournament last season. Irvine Valley is off to a 3-0 start so far this year.
The team has defeated MiraCosta, Southwestern and Cuyamaca so far behind the strong efforts of sophomore forward Max Carrier, freshman forward Joe Eberhard, freshman guard Sean Donovan, freshman forward Travis Fulton, sophomore forward Durrell Norman and sophomore point guard Travis Ballard.
Irvine Valley finished last season with a record of 14-17 overall.
