The Irvine Valley men's team had little trouble at Orange Coast on Friday.
The Lasers, who are ranked second in the state, beat the Pirates, 89-62, in an Orange Empire Conference game.
They did so without using starting center Bryce Webster for the second straight game. The Utah State-bound Webster was out with a foot injury.
First-place in conference Irvine Valley (23-2, 7-0) put on another impressive shooting display.
Irvine Valley shot 62.7 percent from the floor (32 of 51) for the game as four players reached double-digit scoring.
Kashif Watson led the way with 15 points, while Jeff Ledbetter added 14 points, Franklin Session chipped in 13 points and Jason Toney contributed 12 points.
Irvine Valley is shooting 50.6 percent as a team on the season and 51.0 in conference play.
The win on Friday was the team's 12th straight victory.
The Lasers will have a tougher time this week.
Irvine Valley takes on two teams also ranked in the top 10 in the state. Irvine Valley is at No. 6 Fullerton on Wednesday and then hosts No. 10 Riverside on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Irvine Valley defeated Fullerton in double overtime, 91-84, the first time the two teams met and edged Riverside, 63-62.
