Men's basketball team downs Miracosta

The Irvine Valley men's basketball team used a strong second half to pull away and defeat Miracosta, 75-58, Friday night at Palomar College.
The game was part of a doubleheader. Cerritos and Palomar also matched up.
The Lasers led, 29-26, at halftime, but out-scored Miracosta, 46-32, in the second half to earn their second straight victory of the season.
IVC got a team-high 17 points from sophomore center Bryce Webster. Webster scored 10 of those points in the second half.
Freshman power forward Brandon Hucks added 10 points and freshman guard Jeff Ledbetter and sophomore forward Blake Wallace each contributed nine points in the win.
The Lasers now have five days off before playing again. Irvine Valley will host its own Irvine Valley Spectrum Bank Classic next Thursday through Saturday. The Lasers open on Thursday, Nov. 15 against Santa Monica at 6 p.m.
