Former baseball player Tim Carrier shines at UNCG

Former Irvine Valley College baseball player Tim Carrier recently finished up a solid two-year run at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
Carrier (Northwood High) was named to the 2008 Southern Conference All-Tournament Baseball Team.
Carrier finished the tournament with a .438 (7 for 16) batting average – second best on the team.
In both Game six against Wofford and Game eight against Georgia Southern, he launched home runs over the left field wall.
In UNC Greensboro's semifinal game against Elon, Carrier tallied a pair of doubles – one into right field and the other down the left field line.
Overall, the second baseman finished fourth on the team with a .310 average (75 for 242) with 59 runs, 58 RBI, 17 doubles, six home runs, and one triple.
In the season books he is listed fourth in at-bats and sixth in RBI. After two years, he finished his career at UNCG with 237 total bases, 166 hits, 114 runs, 89 RBI, 29 doubles, 12 home runs, and three triples.
The Spartans finished the season with a 12-4 loss to Elon in the semifinals of the tournament.
Carrier was 3 for 5 with a run scored and two RBI in his final college game.
The blue and gold ended the 2008 season with an overall record of 33-27 and a 15-12 conference mark.
Carrier was a two-year starter for Irvine Valley and finished the 2006 season as the team's top hitter with a .371 average. He also had eight doubles, five triples and 24 RBIs. Carrier was second on the team with a .460 slugging percentage.
