The Irvine Valley College baseball team is still looking for its first win on its new on-campus field. The Lasers dropped their third game on the field and fifth in a row overall in falling to Riverside, 5-2, in an Orange Empire Conference mini-tournament game Tuesday afternoon.

The IVC baseball team has taken series from Orange Coast and Fullerton and played the top squads in the Orange Empire Conference such as Riverside and Santa Ana as tough as anyone. But the Lasers have had their problems with Golden West, which is a team that is, like Irvine Valley, near the bottom of the standings

The Irvine Valley College baseball team finally has a field to call home. After nearly two years of playing on the road and using other college's fields as so-called home sites, the Lasers are scheduled to debut their own on-campus field today against Golden West at 2:30 p.m.

The Irvine Valley College baseball team was riding sky high after taking three of four games during the Hornet Hardball Tournament two weeks ago. But the Lasers came back to earth in a pair of Orange Empire Conference losses to Santa Ana last week.

Baseball team wins three of four

Irvine Valley got a chance to beat up on some other teams in the Hornet Hardball Tournament held over spring break last week. The Lasers won three of four games, including beating East Los Angeles, 17-4, last Thursday at Concordia.
