The three-time defending state champion IVC women's badminton team swept another opponent last week. The Lasers defeated San Diego Mesa at home, 21-0, last Thursday.

Irvine Valley ran its record to 6-0 on the season. The Lasers have won every match this year, 21-0.

Irvine Valley's top player, Lili Zhou, won her two matches, 11-1, 11-0, and, 11-1, 11-2.

Grace Peng won, 11-0, 11-0, and 11-0, 11-0, at No. 2 singles for the Lasers.

At No. 3 singles, Yuki Nagawa won, 11-1, 11-0, and, 11-0, 11-0, and at No. 4 singles, Etsuko Cabell won, 11-5, 11-3, and, 11-0, 11-2, for Irvine Valley.

Natalie Bui (11-2, 11-1, and default) at No. 5 singles and Zuzu Htay (11-1, 11-1, and default) were also winners for the Lasers.

In doubles, Irvine Valley's teams of Zhou and Nakagawa and Peng and Vlada Kubrak each won two matches. Irvine Valley's No. 3 team of Cabell and Bui received a default.
