The Irvine Valley College women's badminton team won its first match of the season on Wednesday.
The Lasers, who are the three-time defending state champion, had no problem in beating Grossmont, 21-0.
The match took just one hour and 12 minutes.
Irvine Valley only lost one point in matches in singles.
Lili Zhou, Grace Peng and Yuki Nakagawa each won their two matches, 11-0, 11-0. Stephani Tran won, 11-0, 11-0, and 11-0, 11-1, for the Lasers.
Irvine Valley received defaults in the No. 5 and No. 6 singles contests.
In doubles, Zhou and Vladislava Kubrak won, 15-5, 15-7, and 15-1, 15-3.
The No. 2 team of Peng and Natalie Bui won, 15-1, 15-4, and 15-1, 15-0.
Irvine Valley received a default at No. 3 doubles.
