The Irvine Valley women’s badminton team blanked another opponent last week.
The Lasers, who improved their overall record to 14-0, defeated Orange Coast, 21-0, at home last Wednesday night.
It was the ninth time this season that the Lasers have shut out an opponent.
Irvine Valley got victories in singles from Brita Kjalstrom, Jenna Chiu, Jamie Gong, Midori Tanaka, Grace Leung and Kitty Yee-Wong.
They all won in straight sets.
Kjalstrom won, 11-2, 11-9, and 11-5, 11-1 at No. 1 singles.
Chiu came out on top, 11-4, 11-0, and 11-6, 11-3, at No. 2 singles for the Lasers.
Irvine Valley also swept the doubles with the teams of Kjalstrom and Chiu, Gong and Kitty-Yee Wong and Tanaka and Suzanne Wong winning.
Like in the singles play, Irvine Valley didn’t drop a set in doubles.
Kjalstrom and Chiu won, 11-1, 11-0, and 11-4, 11-1 at No. 1 singles.
The Lasers went on to beat San Diego City on the road on Friday.
Irvine Valley, which is the defending state champion, finishes up its regular season this week with matches against San Diego Mesa and Fullerton.
The Southern California Regional Playoff is next Wednesday.
