IVC Painting Classes 'Chalk One Up' to the Masters 
Painting and Drawing Professor Julie Kirk's students took art history to the IVC sidewalks with chalk studies of Renaissance and Baroque masters. Prof. Kirk, an international figure in street painting, assigned the project in her painting classes and treated campus students, faculty and staff to a week-long 'art event'.
STUDENT NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Summer 07: Over the summer break, IVC student Kelsey Warren (Art History Survey II Spring 07) volunteereed as an actor in the "Pageant of the Masters", Laguna Beach. She portrayed the youthful mother in John Falter's 1959 Saturday Evening Post cover entitled "Frosty in the Freezer". Kelsey plans to continue her pageant work - researching possible new works for next summer's theme "All the World's a Stage". Ms. Warren transfers to Chapman University this fall as a Communications and Broadcasting major ...cheers!
Spring 07: IVC Honors Art History students Maria Korol, Koby Poulton and Ian Pendry received scholarships this spring! Maria will continue her studies in art at UC Irvine, while Koby has been accepted to UCLA and will begin studies in International Relations this fall. Ian is headed for Costa Rica this summer to study its cultural treasures and do some surfin'! ...Good luck to all!
Spring 07: Former IVC Art History student Katherine Lund currenntly is working on a BA in Art History at the University of California at Irvine, and was recognized this spring as an honor transfer student ...onwards and upwards, Katy!
Fall 06: Former IVC Art History student Ashley West was accepted into the Art History degree program at UC Berkeley, and currently is studying Northern Renaissance and Italian Baroque art ...congrats to Ashley!
