Irvine Valley College Adaptive Fitness Instructor; Full-Time Faculty Member; PE Instructor; Dance Coordinator for the IVC Dance Department
Education/Background
Ted started his education locally by receiving an A.S. degree from Orange Coast College.

Ted then went to California State University, Fullerton, and received his B.S. in Kinesiology, along with receiving a minor in Dance.

After pursuing a Bachelors degree, he furthered his education by receiving a Masters of Science in Sports Psychology, from the California State University of Fullerton.

Interests
Aside from contributing a great deal to the Adapted Fitness Program at Irvine Valley College, Ted Weatherford has been instrumental in building a thriving Dance program at the college as well.  In 2005, Ted Weatherford was honored as the 2005 SCOPE, "Physical Educator of the Year."

Education

University of California at San Diego, B.A. in psychology, and played intercollegiate water polo for UCSD.

California State University at Long Beach, Masters in Physical Therapy

Background
Mike has a lifelong passion for exercise and working with special populations.  He has worked with Adapted Physical Education and Wellness Programs in numerous community colleges, institutions and universities in California prior to and after earning his degree in physical therapy.

Interests
Enjoys spending time with his young family, playing recreational basketball, surfing, participating in aquatic sports and working with students at Irvine Valley College.

   Ron Hastings

Education/Background

Masters degree in kinesiology with a focus on adaptive education CSU Long Beach.

1981 National Wheelchair Tennis Program Director and National Coach

Ron Hastings has been teaching Adapted Physical Education at Saddleback College and Irvine Valley College since 1980. He has a long history of teaching disabled students in water exercise, swimming, strength training, stretching and sports activities classes.  Ron has had a major impact on many disabled students in South Orange County as well as current teachers, therapists, and others working in helping professions.  He has been a pioneer in international wheelchair tennis since 1981 and was the National Wheelchair Tennis Program Director and National Coach.  He currently holds the Mikel Bistany Wheelchair Tennis Tournament every summer at IVC for athletes that range from novice to expert.

Interests
Ron's outside interests include surfing, golf, biking, hiking and skiing.
