Candi Dale

Lead IVC Adaptive PE Assistant from 2006-2007

Education
Graduated from California State University, Fullerton, earning a B.A. in Sociology in 2007.  Currently, she is attending graduate school at CSU Fullerton, seeking a masters degree in Gerontology.  Candi is considering a career in administration of senior communities or doing senior advocacy at the city or state government level.

Background
Candi was a student aide with Ron Hastings at Irvine Valley's sister school, Saddleback for four years.  She considers her work at Saddleback and IVC "the best job ever."   She states that this experience gave her increased confidence in her abilities and led her to take on an internship at the Center for Successful Aging.  Her experience with adapted physical education allowed her to lead other interns on exercises immediately and offer suggestions about techniques to her instructors by the end of the semester!

Interests
Candi's initial interest in special education and working with the physically and mentally disabled eventually lead to an interest in working with the geriatric population.  Candi is very involved in the WeCare program giving talks to many groups throughout Orange County and is busy balancing a full work and school schedule as well as planning her wedding this spring.

IVC Adaptive PE Assistant, from 2006-2007

Education
Cypress College, Irvine Valley College, Marina HS, Huntington Beach, CA

Background
Sean has athleticism in his genes.  His Father played in the NFL, his Mother was a star volleyball player at CSU Long Beach and his Sister plays basketball at Cypress.  Sean was grey shirt for the IVC basketball team in 2006-07 during the year he helped with the APE program at IVC.  He is very gifted at translating his athletic background in helping disabled students including special olympians who compete in basketball with their workout regimen and game.  He transferred to Cypress and has had a successful academic and athletic career there leading the team in three-point field goals (91) and blocked shots (22) as a freshman.  That same year, he recorded a season high 37 points against San Bernardino Valley to go along with 10 rebounds.  He is hoping to help carry the Cypress Basketball squad to the playoffs in the highly competitive Orange Empire League this season.

Interests
Sean is a fan of working out and staying in optimal health. Sean is anticipating transferring to CSULB where he plans to continue playing intercollegiate basketball and pursue his career goal of becoming a physical therapist.
