The 2013 season marked the Sea Lions' first as a member of the Pacific West Conference playing a full NCAA Division II schedule.

Point Loma had a record of 26-24 on the season and was 22-14 in the PacWest Conference.

Dunleavy, who is an Irvine resident and went to Mater Dei High, was a starting pitcher for Point Loma during the season.

He was second in wins for the team with five victories, third in innings pitched (67) and in strikeouts (45).

His season highlights included a complete-game win against Azusa Pacific University and matching Cal Baptist's Major League draftee Jon Bengard in a complete game head-to-head performance.

Dunleavy played two seasons at Irvine Valley, but battled injury troubles. He had a record of 0-1 in six appearances and 10 1/3 innings during the 2011 season and was 1-3 in four starts and 26 1/3 innings in 2012.

Dunleavy did sport a 3.42 ERA in 2012 for the Lasers and had 28 strikeouts in the 26 1/3 innings. Opponents hit just .233 against him.
