Like it did during the regular season, the Irvine Valley women's golf team dominated the first day of the Orange Empire Conference Finals.
The undefeated and state-ranked No. 1 Lasers led after the first day of finals at Los Serranos in Chino Hills by 32 strokes.
Irvine Valley came in at 307 strokes. Saddleback was next at 339 strokes and Fullerton posted a score of 348 strokes. Cuyamaca rounded out the scoring at 392.
Sophomore Kate Cho paced the Lasers with a one over par score of 75.
Right behind her were sophomore and defending conference player of the year Sally Kim and freshman standout Vanessa Honnes.
Both shot 2 over par scores of 76.
Sophomore and team co-team captain Halle Young rounded out the team total of 307 with her 6 over par score of 80.
Freshman Taylor Shweiki's score of 83 and freshman Shaiyana Sam's score of 86 were the team's two throw-out scores for IVC.
Cho was the medalist with three birdies, 11 pars and four bogeys.
Kim scored three birdies, 10 pars, and five bogeys and Honnes scored three birdies, 10 pars and five bogeys.
Young had two birdies, 10 pars, four bogeys, and two double bogeys.
Shweiki scored 13 pars, two bogeys, two double bogeys and a triple bogey.
And Sam posted two birdies, eight pars, five bogeys, two double bogeys and a triple bogey.
The final day of the conference finals will be at the same Los Serranos North Course on Wednesday.
First of six tee times is 11 a.m.
